I am pleased to have Jimmy Dani join in on the project. He is interested in seagrass detection, and we hope to collect some data soon. My previous data collection was done by dragging a motorless platform around with the GoPro attached. The problem is that walking around stirs up a particle cloud which turns a fairly clear area extremely turbid.
To test it out, we laid it on top of two old ground robots to make use of there wheels. It should be quite effective in the water if it is able to go forward on land in such a makeshift setup.
We still need to set up the RC for turning. Should be simple; just need to slow the moters on one side to turn. Also need to protect the electronics from the saltwater.
